ASHISH SS12 AT LONDON FASHION WEEK

In a show that combined daisy-filled biker boots with sequins and the next seasons selection of brightly coloured floral prints, the Ashish SS12 catwalk on day 2 of London Fashion Week retained an underlying rock attitude, exaggerated by the models’ loose hairstyles and dark chocolate lips, with a selection of boyish, slouched silhouettes and springtime dresses with fedora hats.

The wonderful overuse of sequins throughout the collection gives each piece a shiny leather-look which harks back to the rock vibe, yet is counterbalanced by the femininity of the glitz and coloured patterns in which they come. This collection is all about balance; mixing the right colours and flowers, combining animal print with florals, pairing boyish frames with feminine details, and playing with a unique Springtime gardening theme whilst remaining ready-to-wear and modern thanks to the signature Ashish patterns and ‘androgynous rock’ look.
