Winter Song

 

 

As spring arrives, we take a final look back at Jack Frost with Winter Song, an editorial sent to us from Paris. Photographed by Joana Roque in the quiet intimacy of her apartment and rooftop in the 20th arrondissement, near the Père Lachaise cemetery, the shoot centers on a girl observed both from within and without. The narrative moves between internal and
external perspectives, captured in the soft winter sun of Paris.

Winter Song imagines how a winter melody might take shape if it were a girl—delicate, complex, and quietly bold. Her presence unfolds through textures, layers, and contrasts. With the wintery fairyland make-up and the striking use of red, model and dancer Emma Spinosi evokes a modern-day Little Red Riding Hood or Alice in Wonderland.

The styling is focusing on pieces by Italian designer Valentina, also based in Paris, and founder of Vivalentina—a brand known for its handmade, sustainable, and upcycled fashion. A fair fashion label rooted in Italy, Vivalentina brings craftsmanship and conscious design to the heart of this winter reflection.

 

 

 

 

I’m from Porto, Portugal. I’m now based in Paris as a fashion photographer, and for this project, I had the opportunity to collaborate with designer Valentina, who is Italian and all her creations are handmade. I love working with individual designers because the idea of creating a unique visual for them as they develop as a brand is something that feeds me and also allows me to explore my art in different ways.

We are a team of creative women from diverse backgrounds who united to create Winter Song, a fashion editorial that portrays a girl as a melody. Through textures, movement, and delicate contrasts, we compose a visual symphony where fashion becomes the language of emotion, each look a note and each detail a lyric, weaving a story that echoes like a song in the winter air.
