Luis Carvalho’s SS 2024 collection, SHELTER 2.0, marks a decade of his artistic journey. Striking a balance between classic minimalism and contemporary allure, this collection introduces gender-neutral silhouettes with a focus on simplicity and refined detailing.

Born in Vizela in 1987, Luís Carvalho began his career  with a degree in Fashion and Textile Design from the Instituto Politécnico de Castelo Branco. Carvalho then perfected his art at ModaLisboa under the guidance of Filipe Faísca and Ricardo Preto. The year 2013 marked a turning point in his career, when he presented the LUIS CARVALHO brand at ModaLisboa. Since then, he has presented his collections at Lisbon Fashion Week.

At Moda Lisboa à La Carte, marking the tenth anniversary of his brand, Luis Carvalho embarks on a journey with his Spring/Summer 2024 collection, named SHELTER 2.0. This collection presents a new perspective on the brand’s inaugural show at ModaLisboa a decade ago.

Interweaving the threads of tradition and casuality, Carvalho’s latest creations transcend gender boundaries, suitable for both men and women. The essence of SHELTER 2.0 lies in the elaboration of the silhouettes – simple and refined, but full of complexity through layered textures and subtle cuts.

Shelter 2.0 offers a new perspective on the first collection presented at ModaLisboa. The collection is a fusion of classic and casual elements, creating silhouettes that intertwine simplicity and elegance. The exploration of genderless persists, and we revisit the holographic metallics and distinctive pattern of the first collection presented at Modalisboa in 2013.

The choice of fabrics is a symphony of textures – crepe, silk satin, taffeta, organza and jacquard. The collection’s colors range from navy blue, crisp white, shades of sand and a blush of pale pink to a vivacious shade of green, infusing the collection with a burst of energy and narrative intrigue.

Luis about a key-piece from this collection…

The bomber jacket, because the coat has always been my favorite piece to design, and it played a fundamental styling role in the first collection as well as in this last one where it is reinterpreted in several ways.
