A stroll around the sun, its planets and stars. In Buzina’s SS23 collection, designer Vera Fernandes invites us to take a tour through the solar system, admiring its unique colors and textures.

Silver pearls beautifully adorned the models’ hair as they walked wearing frilled dresses and skirts. Like the sun as the main star, striking yellow fabrics dominated the collection in dramatic yet romantic garments – a signature style from Buzina.
Viewing our planet as a safe place, Vera shared with ZOOT as we caught up with her at the backstage before the show that she wanted to convey a sense of safety through her designs. “I think everyone should have their safe place and what I want with this collection is for people who wear Buzina to feel safe and to feel that they are being caressed and pampered”, she explained. “I always want to convey security, sexuality and for women to feel empowered when they wear my designs. This is my intention in every collection, at least it’s what I aim for”.
With mostly one-colored looks from head to toe, the collection brings a mix of colors and sparkles. As a flowy royal blue dress strolls down the runway, a strapless sparkled one follows, like a vast galaxy and its stars. Even if it doesn’t seem like it, Vera shared with ZOOT that choosing the colors for her collections are always the hardest part.
It takes me out of my comfort zone. That’s why this collection was such a challenge for me because I worked with colors, sparkles and transparency and that hadn’t happened in any of my collections. So it ended up being a bit risky for me personally as a creator, but at the same time I think it never made so much sense.
Buzina’s objective is always the same: everything that is on the catwalk can be worn every day. It is versatile and comfortable above all.
When I want to convey security to women, it’s in the sense that they can be who they want and do what they want. So I can say that my biggest inspirations are my clients who manage to reinvent a piece that I’ve made and use it in a way that I never thought of, with a combination that I never though they could use. This inspires me daily.
