Amid suspending fireballs and smoke machines at the Palais de Tokyo, ZOOT’s contributing photographer Analicia chronicled the looks of the angelic mob models and space-age guests outside the Rick Owens show at Paris Fashion Week.

The Spring 2023 Ready-to-Wear Collection paints a Hellenistic scene that takes place in a dystopian present. Named for the Egyptian temple located on the west end of the Nile, ‘Edfu’ introduces another angle on what Rick Owens is best known for: structure, edge and delicacy—the ultimate raver dream dress code.

Starting out with delicate latex drapings in sand tones, each look had a nod alluding to its ancient inspirations. Ultra-pointy shoulder pads brought a contemporary flair to the garments making it all seem figuratively celestial. A variety of flowy dresses were introduced, from asymmetrical, to micro, to slit-opened. Both in silk and in leather. In pink, bright yellow and black hues—almost always paired with the new edition of the renowned and beloved grilled platform boots.

On the outside, Analicia snapped a piece of Rick Owens’s longtime acolytes’ visions in best flair. Attendees of the Paris Fashion Week expressed their individual take on fashion with looks that went from contemporary New Romanticism to the origins of the punk scene, while simultaneously capturing the ethereal knack seen on the runway.
