BASSO & BROOKE SS12 AT LONDON FASHION WEEK
Like brightly coloured butterflies in an exotic summer garden, the pastel-dusted models of the Basso & Brooke catwalk on day two of this season’s London Fashion Week wore a variety of classic feminine pieces that formed loose silhouettes in long, flowing silks. The famed Basso & Brooke prints came in panels of abstract floral designs with splattering and sweeped brush strokes to add depth and interest to each print.
The combination of soft pastel tones sweeped across the models eyelids and the loosely tied hair gave a relaxed and feminine look which balanced out harsher colours used in the printed silk designs. Key pieces of the collection include a ¾ length trouser suit in charcoal grey patterns and a selection of bat-winged, floor length dresses with diagonal strips of colour.
The edgy florals create an exotic feel for the upcoming season, yet the collection remains feminine and sophisticated thanks to its classic suit jackets, lightweight feel and pastel coloured jewellery.
