16-21 SEPT: LONDON FASHION WEEK SS12 DAY 1

This years Spring Summer 2012 London Fashion Week kicked off yesterday at Somerset House, featuring the NEWGEN winners installations, the famed Estethica showcase for eco-sustainable designers and an impressive list of ready-to-wear and accessories exhibitors; from Stephen Jones millinery to alternative eyewear by Linda Farrow, neon visors and cuffs by House of Flora and embroidered footwear by Cobra Society.

We also attended the screening of Ada Zanditon ‘Poseius’, an exclusive fashion film showcasing the mood and delicacy of her stunning SS12 collection.

A day 1 favourite, the Bora Aksu show lived up to all its expectations showcasing a petal-covered runway, uplifting soundtrack and an unfallable lace, silk and sheer collection dramatised by pleats and leather ties, constructed in sweeping lines remiscent of Edwardian handwriting and corsetry; raising the standard once again for the upcoming season…
