DIOR JOAILLERIE: LE BAL DES ROSES
The latest jewellery collection by Victoire de Castellane for Dior is comprised of twelve one-of-a-kind pieces dedicated to Christian Dior’s favourite flower, the rose, which is said to have personified the couture house’s first clients; elegant “flower-women” searching for unique gowns to wear to extravagant balls…
The petals of each Dior piece represent a delicate fabric with all the softness and beauty of satin combined with the glory of the stones that embellish them like fine embroidery. From the white and yellow gold bands to the coloured diamonds, sapphires, tanzanites, emeralds, rubies and opals, this Jewellery collection is not only high quality but it shows a beauty and extravagance for which Dior itself is so well renowned.
Castellane explains how he “imagined opulent jewellery where stones are set with other stones until they evoke the most luxurious embroidered fabrics” and in this way the Le Bal des Roses collection perfectly portrays the ultimate encounter between haute couture and haute joaillerie.
