MM6 MAISON MARTIN MARGIELA X OPENING CEREMONY
As of this month, MM6 Maison Martin Margiela is introducing a capsule collection in collaboration with New York retail pioneer, Opening Ceremony. The design concept follows the Maison’s 3-in-1 ideology of recuperation, transformation and reinterpretation to create styles which transform throughout the collection into singular wearable garments and accessories that reflect the innovative character of Opening Ceremony together with the more contemporary and daily approach to fashion design of the MM6 Maison Martin Margiela line.
The transformational sentiment behind the capsule extends it from being only 20+ original styles to include an assortment of additional silhouettes. For example, the lining of a quilted leather jacket can be unfastened to reveal in itself an alternative nylon fabric with a new style underneath; in this way, feelings of multi-purpose and intellectual quality surround the collection in its entirety.
This Autumn/Winter capsule collection is now available globally, as well as featuring exclusively at Antwerp’s Graanmarkt 13 in Belgium with a celebratory installation in their Gallery space running until September 24th 2011.
