THE MISSONI CONVERSE AUCKLAND RACER, MILAN SS'12
Continuing on the success of their ongoing partnership with Missoni, this year Converse created a special edition shoe in keeping with Missoni’s Spring Summer 2012 catwalk, the Converse Auckland Racer.
First created during the first few years of the popular jogging movement in 1970 as a running shoe, the reinterpretation of this pioneering shoe for SS12 is inspired by classic Missoni knits and made to complement the vintage-style track suits which were seen on the recent menswear Missoni catwalk in Milan based on the original designs of Ottavio Missoni’s classic training suit from 1948.
The ingenuity and more conceptual look of the new Missoni Converse Aukland Racers show that the partnership between the two brands is permanently evolving and the teams will hopefully continue to merge their creative talents in order to provide new and innovative design ideas over the next few seasons both on and off the catwalk.
