FRANCÊS HONET CAPSULE COLLECTION FOR LACOSTE L!VE
LACOSTE L!VE, the “young crocodile” of the Lacoste family, has for this season partnered with French artist Francês Honet to create a capsule collection which includes 2 polos, 1 t-shirt and 1 sweatshirt for Spring/Summer 2011. Honet began her career focused around graffiti in Paris and developed her artistic career swapping the spray can for the paintbrush with a gothic style of artwork largely inspired by her travels through Europe and Asia and the abandoned spaces that she visited.
For the LACOSTE L!VE polos, Francês Honet took inspiration from the camouflage style used by American naval fleets during the 2nd World War to create two different patterns. The first polo presents a graphic print around the collar and shoulders using colours originally associated with the LACOSTE L!VE collection, while the second has a similar style but uses a pique fabric which is printed before making the cuts which determine the final pattern of the piece. This technique makes each polo unique but all incorporate the name Honet and Lacoste in black embroidery. The t-shirt and sweatshirt show fun interpretations by Honet of the iconic crocodile logo.
