BACKSTAGE SERGUEI TEPLOV AT KIEV FASHION DAYS
Serguei Teplov is one of the most famous Russian designers of today, presenting his own collections since 2005 and producing four collections each season for his labels SERGUEI TEPLOV and ST by Serguei Teplov.
His Autumn/Winter catwalk was shown on Day 3 of the latest in Ukraine. The collection combined both mens and womenswear with jackets seemingly inspired by Japanese armour designs and tunic tops portraying a traditional monk style, introducing long fitted silhouettes on a variety of textured fabrics and plastic leather pieces.
The collection was based on a rustic colour palette of deep brown, green and midnight blue with highlights of terracotta red and brown-gold being introduced as the show prevailed. Long padded trench-coats dominated with their oversized diagonal-cut collars draped over loose-fitting tunic-style shirts and stiff floor-length skirts or trousers.
Plastic leather was used as jackets or Ra-Ra skirts and transparent chiffon and assymetric panels added an artistic feel to this beautifully simple and rustic collection.
