BACKSTAGE TEGIN AT KIEV FASHION DAYS
Tegin Fashion House, founded by Ukraine-born designer Svetlana Tegin and based in Moscow, has become increasingly successful with a strong following across Russia and Ukraine. The Autumn/Winter collection we saw at Kiev Fashion Days, previously shown at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Russia, proved that this designer is one to watch on the International fashion front…
The concept of the collection is one of a “heroine warrior woman” with a large number of leather items and accents including leggings, belts, corsets, gloves and wide sleeves along with buckles, metal zips, stand-up collars and fur as lining or trim. Black colour dominated, serving as a backdrop for fiery terracotta-orange, purple and scarlet tones. Key pieces included footless stockings with flared ankles and zip detail, and full leather outfits such as a dress made completely of thin ostrich leather which was treated with a distinct deep green tint and created variety in the texture and finish of the leather designs.
The collection provided a futuristic yet Gothic style including strong silhouettes, constructive cuts and a concise elegance of small details in contrast to the exaggerated volumes.
